“It has been a difficult year for potatoes because of the severely wet summer and autumn of 2012. This meant that the main crop potato wasn’t the best of quality. We have always bought the best quality that has been available to us.
This situation was made worse because of the extremely cold spring when traditionally the planting of the new season potatoes would have commenced. This was therefore delayed by 4-5 weeks meaning that we have had to stay on main crop potatoes for that much longer than previous years. We can definately confirm that we are now frying new season Agria which are producing a lovely light golden tasty chip.
Thanks to all our customers in appreciation of your understanding through the difficult time of the potatoes.”
